Durch meine Frustration erzeugen sich neue Bilder,
die mich noch tiefer in die Vergangenheit bringen.
So stand ich plötzlich bei meiner Geburt dabei und sah zu,
wie ein neues Leben entsteht.

Es war so, als betrat ich das Heiligtum.
Ja, es ist schön und gewaltig,
es ist das höchste der Gefühle,
es ist der Moment der Wahrheit
über mich.
Als ich weiter zusah,
die emotionale Distanz wurde immer größer.
Augenblicklich verschwand alles,
der Geburtssaal, die Ärzte, die Tische,
die Fenster, die Wände, das Boden,
die Mutter
und das Kind.
Ja, es ist schön und gewaltig,
es ist das höchste der Gefühle,
es ist der Moment der Wahrheit
über mich.
Als ich weiter zusah,
die emotionale Distanz wurde immer größer.
Augenblicklich verschwand alles,
der Geburtssaal, die Ärzte, die Tische,
die Fenster, die Wände, das Boden,
die Mutter
und das Kind.
Als ich in Nichts schaute,
kam ein Schmerz in mich wie ein Blitz
und brachte mich Schritt für Schritt dazu,
etwas anderes über mich selbst zu empfinden.

mit einer Explosion anfing, einer Explosion der Gefühle.

Now everything is gone.
No more excitement, no more emotions,
no bond of any kind, no dependency.

that take me even deeper into the past.
So I suddenly stood by my own birth and watched
how a new life is created.

It was like entering the sanctuary.
Yes, it is beautiful and mighty,
it is the highest of emotions,
it is the moment of truth,
about me.

As I kept watching,
the emotional distance grew.
Instantly everything disappeared,
the delivery room, the doctors, the tables,
the windows, the walls, the floor,

Über die Videoinstallation "Nostalgija"
Die Videoinstallation besteht aus einem digital nachgestellten Zimmer aus der Kindheitserinnerung des Künstlers als Kulisse, und aus seiner, in die Kulisse integrierten Selbstprojektion (Tanzperformance) aus der heutigen Zeit.
Starcic beschäftigt sich in dieser Arbeit mit dem Thema "Isolation", die als Nebenprodukt der dauerhaften sozialen Distanz, mit der das Individuum seit dem Ausbruch der Corona konfrontiert ist. Der Umgang mit dieser Situation und die inneren seelischen Zerwürfnisse einzelner Menschen durch Selbstabschottung und Isolierung von der Gesellschaft, wurden von dem Künstler als unzählige historische Kämpfe jedes einzelnes Individuum mit der Isolation empfunden.

Die Videoinstallation ist ein interdisziplinäres Kunstprojekt, wo sich verschiedene künstlerische Darstellungsformen zusammenfügen. Der visuelle Hintergrund der Videoinstallation ist eine digitale Fotocollage, die den dreidimensionalen Raum bildet. In diesen Raum wurde, vorher abgefilmte und digital bearbeitete Tanzperformance des Künstlers integriert.
Die Soundcollage ("IF YOU WANT YOUR PAST BACK" ) wurde anschließend parallel zu der Tanzperformance komponiert. Das literarische (Poesie) rundet das Projekt ab.

About the video installation "Nostalgija"
The video installation consists of a digitally recreated room from the artist's childhood memories as a backdrop, and his self-projection (dance performance) from the present day integrated into the backdrop.
In this work, Starcic deals with the topic of "isolation", which is a by-product of the permanent social distance that the individual is increasingly confronted with since the outbreak of the Corona virus. Dealing with this situation and the inner psychological quarrels of individual people through self-seclusion and isolation from society were perceived by the artist as countless historical struggles of each individual with isolation.
The video installation is an interdisciplinary art project in which different artistic forms of representation come together. The visual background of the video installation is a digital photo collage that forms the three-dimensional space. The artist's dance performance, previously filmed and digitally edited, was integrated into this space.
The sound collage ("IF YOU WANT YOUR PAST BACK" ) was composed parallel to the dance performance. The literary (poetry) completes the project.
