About.Salt. ist eine multimediale Installation, die sich durch die Medien Tanz, Video und Sound in einer Skulptur im Raum ausdrückt. Die Arbeit basiert auf dem zweiteiligen live-stück SALT., das in Zusammenarbeit mit Constanza Ruiz Campusano, Silke Schuster und Sanaz Starcic im Rahmen des Projekts frames:[everyday] von Darko Dragicevic und Martin Sonderkamp entstanden ist. Das Stück wurde von der Künstlerin Sanaz Starcic in About.Salt. neu adaptiert und als Endlosschleife im Raum installiert. Der Boden ist bedeckt mit 200kg Salz, das verteilt im Raum liegt. Der Betrachter ist eingeladen, durch das Salz zu laufen um die Videoprojektionen auf den verschiedenen Objekten wahrnehmen zu können. Es sind insgesamt drei Objekte, auf denen projiziert wird. Sie alle weisen geometrische Formen auf. Der Betrachter wird durch die wechselnden Videos, als einzige Lichtquelle, durch den Raum geführt. Durch den Loop und die sich verändernden Videoaufnahmen, die zwischen Nahe und Totale springen, werden Zeit und räumliche Dimensionen des Abgebildeten verfremdet. Ebenfalls spielt der Sound eine große Rolle, so dass auch hier der Betrachter aufgefordert wird sich nicht nur zum wechselnden Bild, sondern auch zum Sound durch die surreale Salzwelt zu bewegen.

About.salt. is a multimedia room installation that expresses itself through the media dance, video and sound in a sculpture in space. The work is based on the two parted live piece SALT., that was created in a collaboration between/with Constanza Ruiz Campusano, Silke Schuster and Sanaz Starcic in the framework of a project frames:[everyday] by Darko Dragicevic and Martin Sonderkamp. The piece was adapted by the artist Sanaz Starcic in About.Salt and installed as a loop in space. The floor is covered with 200 kg of salt that is spread in space. The viewer is invited to walk through the salt in order to perceive all video projections on the different objects. There are three different objects on which is projected. They all feature geometrical shapes. The videos are the only light source in space, so that the viewer is led by its light. Through the loop and the images switching between close up and wide shots, time and spacial dimensions of the mapped images are being deformed. The sound plays as well a great role in leading the viewer throughout the surreal salt world.
