Five-day FILM WORKSHOP at the Alte Schule youth center.
Concept & process:
First, we developed together with the participants the script with the main topic "alcohol". The result of the first day was an exciting and emotionally charged story.
A further three days, three film teams were put together which shot in different locations in Kürten.
The project was then cut and presented to the participants and guests.

It was a real challenge for the youngsters to implement this story in 4 days because it is very multifaceted and shows a lot of emotions. Despite the time pressure, the result of educational media and cinematic value was at the highest level.
The "MY HOOD" project was aimed at twelve to 18-year-old girls and boys from the social area, from the institutions in the Altstadt-Nord educational landscape, and from the regular visitors to the "Klingelpütz" facility in Cologne.
It started directly with the youth interests and objectified their youth-specific topics. Within the project, various possibilities for self-presentation with dance, music and graffiti were offered, which were finally recorded on film.

The kids really took the project seriously and got involved fully. They also had a lot of fun. This is what makes a successful project.
I was particularly surprised by the two filmmakers Christian and Carlo. They were very committed to the end. The result is impressive.

WORKSHOP WITH STOP MOTION STUDIO PRO IN EUSKIRCHEN
The workshop "Introduction to Stop Motion" took place on March 22, 2019 at the Child Protection Association in Euskirchen.
Aim of the workshop: To familiarize the group of 8 young people with the Stop Motion technique and the Stop Motion Studio Pro program. In the next few months, they will produce their own projects independently using the program.
Many thanks to the employees of the Child Protection Association in Euskirchen for the nice reception and good cooperation!
FILM WORKSHOP at the Thomas Eßer vocational college, Euskirchen
Concept & process:
The main theme and focus of the workshop is the term "values", especially in the relationship between men and women in today's society. The group consisted of students from different school classes: the international class, consisting of refugee young people and the metal technology class.
Two film groups with different focuses were formed.
Since the workshop only lasted three days, we created with the students on the first day two scripts together and started shooting on the same day. The shooting was finished on the third day and afterwards there was a discussion on the topic mentioned above.
As a result, a short film was created and a "ONE TAKE" short film.

We @mediawelle were actually surprised at how good the results were. We owe this to the commitment of everyone involved, and above all, the students in front of the camera, their courage to stand in front of the camera for the first time without fear and, of course, their openness in the conversation that followed.
Around 170 children have been living in their own little town since Monday (22.07.2019) - in Mini-Schmidt near Nideggen in the Eifel. It is a very special holiday project in which the students experience the adult world in small format.
For this project, the area of the elementary school in Nideggen-Schmidt has been transformed into a small town. Mini-Schmidt is a city for children only. Except for the caregivers, adults have no access unless they visit the Children's Town as a tourist.
There are a total of 40 businesses in the city: for example, a bakery, a joinery, a newspaper, garbage disposal or a police may not be missing in a city. Here the children can earn their own money, in their own currency: the "Schmidtis". Just as in real life, you can spend the earned money in the city as well.
Eduard Starcic from Mediawelle headed the "Mini Schmidt News" - a small TV station in the middle of Mini Schmidt. At the end of each day there was the latest news from the Mini Schmidt city.
